Mr Rajiv Goyal is the dynamic Chairman and Managing Director of Surya Group of Companies, a fast emerging conglomerate based in North India. The ISO 90012000 WHO GMP certified plants are involved in the business of manufacture and export of pharmaceutical products and services comprising APIs , FDFs and CRAMS. The company has become one of the world's leading manufacturers of mint derivatives as well.

His strong drive and belief in "Empowering Life" led him to set up another Greenfield USFDA registered mint derivatives facility in Himachal Pradesh. This was followed by another facility in Jammu and Kashmir with focus on manufacturing sterile pharmaceuticals and mint derivatives, again as per USFDA norms.

His dream of turning Surya Pharmaceutical Limited in to a reputed international pharmaceutical company resulted in the establishment of a hi-tech research and development center at Panchkula and also at Banur. Integrating his strong 1200 manpower team with the vision of achieving operating excellence and market leadership, he is fast moving towards his mission of a disease-free world, a cleaner environment and a healthier population.

Under his care, the company has grown from a Rs 50 million enterprise in 1993 to Rs 5 billion in 2008 and is expected to touch Rs 15 billion by 2011 . With this projected turnover, the company has a pan-global presence with business interests in about 70 countries across the globe.

The company plans to expand its horizons fast and is preparing to enter European and American pharmaceutical markets by 2011. The Government of India recognizes the company as a ''Three Star Export House".

Having made his presence felt in the pharma sector, Mr Goyal has his eyes set on expanding his business empire by moving into newer areas of education and pharma retail.

It is his altruistic initiatives that have resulted in setting up of the Surya Educational and Charitable Trust. "Our mission is to deliver world-class education to meet the need for skilled and self-motivated workforce to take India further on the path of glory in the global arena," feels Mr Goyal.

Mr Goyal is also actively involved with trade associations. He is a member of CII, PHDCII, CMA, FICCI, IDMA, BDMA, CHEMEXCIL, IGCC, and PHARMEXIL etc.
